Union Square first
Three of the 12 are around Union Square, which shares the East Village's 10003 ZIP code. 17th St Luxury NYC, 18 East 17th Street, sells designer and vintage bags on consignment. It is 4.9 on Google from 289 reviews, read 20 September 2026, and 151 of those reviews praise the staff.
Around the corner at 41 Union Square West, Doyle & Doyle sells vintage jewelry, and 22 reviews mention engagement rings. It keeps office hours, 9 am to 5 pm on weekdays, and asks for an appointment.
Rothmans New York is across the square at 222 Park Avenue South, near East 18th Street. We have no Google reading for it, so check its own site before you go.
Fourth Avenue, corsets and trades
Walk south down Fourth Avenue to the block between 11th and 12th Streets. Gothic Renaissance at number 110 sells goth clothing and costumes, and 58 reviews mention corsets. It stays open until 8 pm six days a week.
Two numbers up at 112, Other People's Clothes has no hours on file with us. Its web address carries the words buy, sell and trade.
East 9th Street, the best block
Cut east to First Avenue, where L Train Vintage is at number 204, between 12th and 13th Streets. We have no hours for it either.
Then walk down to Mr. Throwback, 437 East 9th Street, between First Avenue and Avenue A. It sells vintage sports gear, buys secondhand pieces too, and stays open until 8 pm every day but Sunday.
Back across First Avenue, three shops share one block. Fabulous Fanny's at 335 sells vintage frames (Google files it as a sunglasses store and an eye care center). Across the street, Cloak & Dagger at 334 is a womenswear boutique that opens at 11:30 am, or 11 am on Sundays, and reviews name its sweaters and jeans.
Ten numbers down, DUO NYC at 324 sells vintage, and 31 of its 32 Google reviews give five stars.
East 7th Street, in the historic district
Two blocks south, Tokio 7 at 83 East 7th Street buys and sells designer clothes on consignment. Designer selection comes up in 36 reviews and discounts in 9. Its 4.0 on Google from 256 reviews, read 20 September 2026, is the lowest rating on the walk, and the labels are the reason to go anyway.
Across First Avenue, Trash and Vaudeville at 96 East 7th Street is the one stop to make if you only make one. Punk clothing comes up in 40 reviews and goth fashion in 20, and it stays open until 8:30 pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
Both addresses are in the East Village/Lower East Side Historic District, which the Landmarks Preservation Commission designated on 9 October 2012. It covers about 325 buildings, and the city's report on it calls the most recent chapter "the East Village of Bohemians and punks" in its last lines. The same report dates the area's first building boom to the 1830s, and its oldest tenements to before the Tenement House Act of 1879.

For a late start, Gothic Renaissance, Mr. Throwback and Trash and Vaudeville stay open until 8 pm or later on weekdays.
