The best ratings are on the side streets. Rogue on Allen Street and avntgrdny on Eldridge Street, five minutes apart, are both 4.9 on Google, from 1,394 and 1,165 reviews, read 20 September 2026. No other shops in Manhattan in this guide have that many reviews.
So treat Orchard as the middle of the walk and start upstairs on East Broadway. The whole route is 1.5 miles, about 33 minutes on foot before you stop anywhere.

East Broadway, upstairs
Start where the Lower East Side runs into Chinatown. Benthos is on the third floor of 35 East Broadway, an archive vintage shop rated 5.0 on Google from 29 reviews, read 20 September 2026. It opens Wednesday to Sunday, noon to 7 pm.
A short walk east, 75 East Broadway is a two story mall under the Manhattan Bridge. Its floor rumbles when trains cross overhead, The Daily Beast reported in June 2022, and the fashion tenants are on the second floor.
Above Chinatown is in suite 201, a vintage shop open noon to 7 pm every day, and 177 of its 216 Google reviews give five stars. Old Jewelry Store is up there too, in suite 227. Reviews mention vintage and new jewelry, it does repairs, and it closes on Mondays.
Orchard and Ludlow, below Delancey
Cross Canal Street to Desert Vintage, 34 Orchard Street, a luxury vintage shop open 11 am to 7 pm every day. One block east, Café Forgot at 29 Ludlow Street is the stop for new designers, and 14 of its reviews say so.
Just north of Grand Street, three shops are a few steps apart. Miista is at 69 Orchard, and we have no Google hours for it, so check its own site first. Across the street, Pilgrim New York at number 70 sells women's consignment from noon to 5 pm and closes on Mondays.
The Cast is two numbers up at 72. Leather jackets come up in 13 of its reviews, punk rock in 5, and it stays open until 7 pm, or 6 pm on Sundays.
Delancey and Eldridge
Procell, at 5 Delancey Street near the Bowery, sells archive streetwear. Its reviewers split: 34 give five stars and 16 give one, for 3.6 on Google from 60 reviews, read 20 September 2026.
Three minutes east, avntgrdny at 131 Eldridge Street sells jewelry, clothes and shoes, and 128 of its reviews mention Chrome Hearts. It keeps the shortest hours on the walk, 1 pm to 5 pm, Monday to Saturday. Plan around it.

Above Delancey
Back on Orchard, Extra Butter at number 125 is the sneaker stop, with sneakers in 50 of its reviews (Google also lists it as a snack bar). The sneaker stores page has this guide's other two.

Finish at Assembly New York, 170 Ludlow Street, just below Houston. It is a concept shop with designer clothes, bags and jewelry for men and women, open 11 am to 7 pm every day.
When to go
Pick an afternoon from Wednesday to Saturday. Between 1 pm and 5 pm on those days, all 12 shops with posted hours are open at once, the only such stretch of the week. Monday is the worst day: Benthos, Pilgrim New York and Old Jewelry Store all close.

For lunch, Essex Market is two blocks east of Orchard at 88 Essex Street. The original market opened on 9 January 1940, Mayor Fiorello La Guardia's plan to ease streets crowded with pushcarts, by the market's own history. Its vendors moved across the street into this building in May 2019.
